Been eating like this for a couple months now, since November.

Breakfast 2 eggs, low-fat cheese, 2 pieces turkey bacon, coffee, water with fiber one.
snack: either cheese snack or pistachios, or almonds.
lunch: salad, with chicken, small amount of turkey bacon, low fat cheese, vinegar, tomato. (400 calories type from wawa)
Dinner: Some kind of lean meat, ie. turkey, chicken, fish, steak. Veggie of some sort usually green beans, a salad.
Snack: sugar free jello, nuts (mixed with sea salt)

before dinner: cottage cheese low fat or fat free large curd.

Go to the gym 4 - 5 days a week, 30 minutes cardio and then some lifting. Different body parts each day super sets if the gym isnt too crowded

In that case, it looks pretty decent, but I'd make the following changes:

    - Aim for a bit more protein. Doing cardio and lifting 4-5x a week on that much protein may leave you feeling a bit insufficient.

    - If your goals are cardiovascular and to lower cholesterol and blood sugar I would absolutely make room to get in a serving of oatmeal each day. In this regard, oatmeal is one of the best foods you can eat. I would shoot for 1/4 cup of oats each morning or as your snack with the almonds.

    - Do cardio after lifting. Or if you have the time for 2 workout sessions a day, do cardio in the morning on an empty stomach, and then lift later on in the day.

Thanks for the advice. So say a cup of oatmeal mid morning, then a protein shake after lunch, or post workout?

Look for steel cut oats. Stick to 1/4 cup dry oats... which when cooked come out to about a cup or so. Eat this morning or mid-morning. If you want, throw your almonds from your snack in with the oats, tastes good.

If you are going to utilize a protein shake, it's best used after a workout than any other times... so yeah, post workout.

If you're worried about EFA's, take fish oils pills or just get eggs that have omega 3 and start eating some fish for lunch (salmon for example).

I take two fish oil tablets every day. With red rice extract, and a multivitamin. Oh and we have those eggland's best eggs.

each pill is usually 1g. Most people I know take 5-10. Just remember the calories in them add up; 10 pills is going to be 100 calories.

Werd. Supposedly a good deal more nutrition in steel cut oats. Not to mention tasting 10 x better.

Not something that's going to make the difference between you being shredded or not.

Honestly, I do steel cut in the microwave. Just go slow, use about 1 part oats to 2 parts water, and do it in 30-min bursts so it doesn't boil over. Takes 3-4 minutes from what I recall, I haven't made them in a while.

Of course not... But you'd have to be retarded not eat one form of something over another when it has more nutrition, better digestion, and tastes better, lol.

All the brands I've made (3) require water + steel cut oats in a pot. Bring to boil. Once boiling, reduce to a very low heat, and let simmer for 12-14min.

    Eat.
