It seems that our server can only have 5 people connected to the VPN at one single time. The users are using Windows PPTP to connect the VPN.

When I open RAS on our Windows 2003 Server box, there are plently of open L2TP ports but only 5 PPTP ports.

Is there a way I can switch L2TP ports to PPTP ports? Or are we somehow limited by our license agreement?

Sorry, i'm a noob when it comes to this.

Because you don't have enough licenses for Windows Server. Still applies when you use VPN

Regardless of your license situation, there is an option window that will let you type in how many of each type of port you'd like. If you're strictly using PPTP, you don't need any L2TP ports.

    Found it. THanks.
Right-click ports in RAS and increased the number of PPTP ports.
    Works great now.
