    I would love to have a Johnson rifle.
    but as you said, $6000 is a bit much for a college student.
    hell, for $6000 I could have a machine gun. :(

    I watched Public Enemies the other night and was jizzing myself constantly

    ammunition feeding from outside the grip on pistols isnt legal in CA.

    so yes, the mauser broomhandle is illegal.

    feeding from outside the grip with a detachable mag is illegal. IIRC, a fixed mag outside the grip is legal. And broomhandles were loaded with stripper clips ;)

    I read a while back that Winchester made lever actions for the Russian empire chambered in 7.62x54r, and that some of them were returned to the US. Since I read that article I thought it would be amazing to have one of these.
