How do the Raptor 10K compare against a Maxtor DiamondMax 7.2k 16MB NCQ? The raptor is about double the price, and offering less space. How about against the 16MB NCQ ran Raid-0?

I cant speak for the Maxtor, but my Raptor (70) is great as a drive for OS and apps. All my music is kept on a second drive as no performance is lost.

Well strictly off of the brand names I would go with the WD. Maxtors quality has sucked the past few years, especially in the larger drives.

That being said those are pretty different drives, 10K vs 7.2k, etc. Most of the 10k drives are considerably more. So if you are looking to get a cheaper drive then the raptor, I'd go with a 7.2k WD or, better yet, Seagate.

    I believe. :noes:

So let's ignore brands. I'm not on a budget, but want to know how do they compare to each other.
