As a big fan of Ranma from back in the day that owned every bit of the manga and DVDs I have to disagree.

The OVAs and maybe the first three seasons of the television series are worth watching. See the rest if you couldn't get enough.

I'm a big Kasumi fan. :hs:

Ranma is a frustrating series. The cursed water is a brilliant concept, and most of the characters are really great. The potential for sheer anime harem nirvana is huge starting out.

That's what makes it even harder to watch as Rumiko Takahashi and everyone else writing completely wastes it as the series progresses. The anime might have the worst ending I've ever seen in any series ever. The manga is a little better, but still very dissatisfying.

The OVAs are as good as Ranma gets, and you don't need to know the background to enjoy them.

true, the manga ending just starts over again (kinda like the end of the tv series 1).
wish the ova kept on going

I loved Ranma too. When the anime introduces the Hawaiian school principal...it might have been the lowest point in anime history, lol.

Still, I didn't regret watching it. My favorites were Ranma, Ukyo, and Akane. :)

Akane was badass when her conciousness was swapped with that doll. Like I said before, the OVA series can never lose.

I wish there were more situations in the story where Ranma and his rivals teamed up to fight bad guys like the films.

Yeah, the tour guide. His english voice was great, in fact they did a great job casting for the dub.
