lol, i did it. It's actually pretty hardcore compared to the "real army" (minus the actual ranger and sof units).

  3. i did it for two years, took home first place the first year i did it and third place the second year. i recommend it to anyone wanting to get in shape, or do more than typical rotc pt.

Are you judged as an individual or are you in teams? I really know nothing about it other then I'm gonna have to get up at 4:30am every day for 3 weeks and do shit

I am doing it.... along with Hockey tryouts in the evening. My legs are so sore. I am really surprised though at how hardcore it is compared to the Big Army... They don't tolerate fallouts at all. Badass.

Just got my training schedule and this shit does look pretty intense. 6 days a week at 515. Consists mostly of 3-6 mile ruck runs, regular long distance running and long ass road marches, plus the other stuff such as land nav, etc

Are they back to doing ruck-runs with the boots?

what the gay is that about? We used to ruck run with boots.

It's funny, in the real army if you tried to get Soldiers to do a ruck ruck with 35-40 lbs, they'd look at you like you were nuts.

Really? When we do road marches, we have a minimum of 35-40lbs and we wear the boots. We only wear shoes when we ruck run.

Shit...I hate doing back in the day stories - but this one seems appropriate. We used to do the Ruck-Runs in boots. All black leather combat boots. Not the tennis style we're used to now (I personally rock the oakley's now).

Yeah, for a young 18y/o, that was pretty rough since I didn't have any that were broken in.

2-10BCT's standard for road marching was Assault Pack (17lbs or more) with Camel Back (3 liters or more) - IOTV with standard acuterments (medical pouch) and all plates (front, back and side) with M4's and ACH's. Mandatory eyepro and gloves. No exceptions. Did the 25miler last year in 8:32.

Yep, we did our ruck runs with those black combat boots. They were so frigging stiff it was like running with planks of wood.
