I picked up a C9 today and went directly to the range after stopping at wal-mart for some Winchester White Box 115 gr ammo. It's been over four years since I've shot a pistol. So, my grouping was less than stellar. First impression - feels VERY stout. The magazine was fairly loose which gave me a very feeling. Firing - Loaded up a full 8 rounds, racked the slide. There's a lot of talk saying that for the first couple hundred rounds, the slide won't go all the way forward thus causing an FTL/FTF. No such problems here when loading the first round. I did have two FTLs in the 100 rounds I fired. It seemed that the rounds in question were angled downward instead of upward. Trigger pull and recoil impression - Great trigger pull, very smooth. Recoil seemed kinda heavy. It was hard to get an accurate, quick, double-tap. Casing ejection - I've shot guns that spit casings all over the place. Up, sideways, backwards, you name it. The C9 sometimes launched casings up past my ear, but most of the time just sent them sideways. Overall, I'm happy with it. It fits my hands perfectly and shoots well. For $135 it's not bad. It's no high end pistol, but it's not supposed to be. After a few hundred more rounds, I'll give another report.
