    :wackit:

I put 100 rounds through it Saturday, and HOLY SHIT. .308 is an impressive round.

Failure to feed: 1 (due to user error: I didn't have the magazine fully seated, and it popped out as the bolt was closing)
    Failure to eject: 0
    Ease of disassembly/reassembly/cleaning:

I was all over the place on the target at 100 yd, but I was having trouble getting used to the sights. It's partly my vision. The sights were blurry, so I was having trouble lining it up (and at 100yd I could barely see the target anyway), and partly the fact that after a few rounds I know I was flinching. That thing is a beast, and actually left what looks like hickeys all over my shoulder. And the blast was hurting my face. Both my cheeks were numb when we packed up and went home.

But I did manage to put every round through the man-sized target, even though most of them were not centered. It does shoot high and left, but I don't have the sight adjustment tool yet, and couldn't fix it, so I was trying to compensate by shooting low & right. That also contributed to my poor performance.

I expect to do better once my scope mount comes in the mail, so I can actually see what I'm shooting at.

I am, however, 100% confident that at 100 yards I can kill somebody, along with anybody standing behind him.

Overall, I rate the rifle 9/10 so far, and my own performance 4/10 :mamoru: I'll take it out again when I get the scope mount. And a thicker butt pad. :noes:

Flinching FTL, I l need a pussy pad for my Mauser and my Mosins. There's nothing worse than having a FTF and jerking the fucking muzzle up anyway :o

I haven't had a rifle bruise my shoulder since I was a kid. That was pretty awesome. :big grin:

I also have an HK-91 collapsible stock coming, but after this weekend, I'm not sure I'll ever use it. I don't know if I want all that power channeled into a SMALLER area on my shoulder.

After shooting the .308 for a while, I took out my Mini-14 to compare them. The difference was pretty much the same as going from the .223 to a .22 - the recoil felt like I was shooting a BB gun.

 I been wanting one for a long time but Century tends to screw up the CETME's even more frequently then AK's. :hs: I have 50 mags already :o

I guess I lucked into a good one. It was right next to a Hesse CETME that was priced $100 more, but mine was in MUCH better shape. The welds are all clean and smooth, it's nice and solid, and in general just a great rifle.

I did have to replace the hemp string in the cleaning kit though. It was so old it snapped every time I tried to use it to pull the brush through the barrel. So I retied it with 30 lb fishing line from walmart.

 That was my most embarassingn gun moment, I didn't pull the trigger all the way back and jerked it high and right and the gun hadn't even fired yet :o Luckily no one saw. That was with my M44.

I have a Yugoslavian AK that kicks almost as badly as the CETME (also high and to the left ... hmmm). Forming a solid cheek weld is a good way to get bruises on that AK. Recoil is manageable on it and the CETME, but obviously more than an AR-15.

A shop that stocks Hesse and Century? I don't think I'd ever go back there :o

On the used rifle shelves, they sell whatever people sell them. :squint:

Anyway, my Century is awesome. :)

That was how I learned I was pushing the muzzle down and forward to compensate for the recoil with my mini-14. I had a round not fire and jerked it down. Embarrassing as hell.

Yeah I'll use it for show, but I don't think I'll be firing it. :o

My buddy recently ordered a Century Cetme and when he got it he was only able to fire two rounds, which I was suprised he did that. The thing hadn't been properly headspaced and 4/5 of the cartridge had the rifle lands and grooves engrained in it. They treated him really well and sent him a different rifle (I told him I would have just sent it back and told them to keep it) but the new one worked fine.

When I get back to tally if I have the fund we should hit up the range sometime.

Yeah. I think he still has the casing. Next time I talk to him I'll see if I can get some pics. And I'm down.

All of the casings I fired had black grooves in them, I assume because the CETME has a fluted chamber.

Yep, fluted chambers leave marks on all the casings. In addition to that, CETME/G3s beat the living shit out of the brass leaving huge dents etc. If you can find a port buffer, it remedies the situation.

The HK stock arrived today. :coold: I had to shave the spring retainer down to fit into my receiver, but other than that it fits perfectly. Now I have a lot more room in my rifle case.

Badass man, I always wanted one of those, but I don't think I could afford to shoot it enough with the price of .308
