This could be a nice thread; a reminder of the small things that help keep us going. Think of random things that you have an opinion on that really don't require one. Things that make you smile when they happen or just give you some comfort.

    Here goes:

    * I love eating with chopsticks and not just chinese food.

    * Gas pumps with a lever instead of button make me smile.

    * It makes me laugh when all the pipes rattle after I flush the urinal and then wash my hands at work.

It makes me happy to drive my father's old car. It's been in the family for 32 years. I grew up with it around. It's very comforting for me.

Waking up and seeing a sunny day makes me smile, every time.

Every time that I think about my friends, I smile at the group of wonderful people I've amassed, and giggle at what ways I've touched their lives, and they mine.

Every time I walk barefoot in my home, I smile at the beauty in which I live.

On the weekends, when I sit outside facing the world with a cup of hot tea and a good book, letting my facial masque harden, I want to smile (but don't wanna crake the julep) ;)

Taylor, I agree, its an immediate mood change for me , the minute I step into Dad's 1979 Fiat 2000 Spider. The little 90Bhp Carbed Flat 4, the catless straight pipe exhaust, the top down, wind through the hair, taking a corner like a maniac, its the only car Ive ever driven that I think could outhandle a go-kart.

The car I'm referring to is a 1973 Porsche 911E Coupe. My dad ordered it brand new, the first year he and my mom were married.

It makes me happy when I figure out how to run complex statistical analyses without having any training in said field.

    Structural equation modeling :noes:

When I look at my "Life is good" hat in the mirror and the mirror-image of the word "good" is "boog"...

I say "boog" and giggle. It's a funny word if you say it out loud.

Go ahead... say it out loud and tell me it doesn't make you smile.

    boog

*my friends, they never fail to put a smile in my face...sometimes I'm all cranky on fridays adn they would call me to hang out and I'd go, sometimes forced because I hate being at home and everytime I say the same: thank God I came :)

*when it rains, better if it's storming, all the wind and pouring water makes me happy, better if I'm under the sheets in a very cold day watching tv...

*a good eat with my father, he's an amazing cook, in the end I hope I turn out to be just like him

*when I see someone eyeing me, for some reason I love that :noes:

    *Chocolate, any kind.

Taylor, The Fiat looks something like this:

The funny Part is, if I put my size 13 1/2 foot sideways, I can mash the gas, brake and clutch all at the same time!

My mom was driving a Fiat Coupe of a similar vintage which they traded in on the 911. Nice car. They had to put a quart of oil in it to get it to the dealership though

The pedals are similar on the 911. At 6'6", my right knee is squeezed between the steering wheel and the shifter. The good thing is that my size 12 can heel-toe like second nature.
