random ding/chime noise

    my computer has been making a random ding/chime noise recently they will play at random times throughout the day and night. it is a short two note noise. any idea what it is? ical and mail are closed.

    never used that before..i look into it though

    I would guess Google notifier, maybe it's a top/bottom of the hour warning, or it could be the Transmission warning if you use it.

    i dont think ive ever downloaded google notifier. i do use transmission but im not seeing anything in the settings, what should i look for, other than when a file completes it plays the "glass" sound but that isnt it.

    sorry my internet has been down and then my room mates stopped working but his is working now.

    nope. its pissing me off. i cant figure it out. the only thing i can think of is it being something with firefox since i rarely close that.

    open up your activity monitor and see if you can find anything that could make an alert sound

    Doubt it is Firefox, I have never heard anything come from mine.
