Seriously though, if you are on a budget, my Sony EX51's are pretty decent... 100X better that the iPod ones... they are about $40 at Best Buy and other places...

i'm really thinking about those. i know they are about $70, but have awesome reviews
how is the bass and treble?
can you put them in your ears and lay down with them (your ear on the pillow) i have the original ipod headphones and i can't lay down with them in for longer than 10 minutes, i have to take out one of them because it starts hurting my ear

Sennheiser makes a huge range of noise reduction 'phones. Just check them out. I have the PX200s for my iPod and they are pretty awesome sound quality-wise, but they don't block out airplane noise. But I know they make them.

    I have the EX71, they're great.

I've been considering stepping up to the Shure E2Cs though :noes:

I like the sonys because the cord can shorten up. It becomes the perfect length from my nano armband to my ears when I go to the gym :hs:

The earbuds that come with the Apple gear doesn't fit in my ears cause of my piercings. I have a pair of Grado SR80s that are amazing and actually give the iPod some bass.
