    I have a 2.16ghz C2D Macbook Pro with 4gb ram

    I can't play 1080p movies

Before I go and get a better computer, is this normal? or are there other people with the same model that can easily play 1080p movies?

What do you mean you can't play 1080p movies? You mean a blu-ray disc, or a file?

I have a new 13" MBP w/4GB and I have played the Top Gear Polar Special in 1080P and it was beautiful -- no lag or skipped frames... Plus it was streaming over WiFi.

I'm happy (and surprised) that it could do that so well.

I'm equally surprised (and disappointed) that photoshop is so slow editing photos. This nVidia 9300M is an interesting card. Exceeds some expectations, and falls flat on it's face on others.

same computer, and it plays fine. In fact, I had a P4 with < 1 gb of ram and it ran 1080p movies without a problem. Something else is wrong...
