5 real fights with a loss so it's not like he's been steam rollin'
top 10 , nope
He looked sick in the Arona fight.
Is he still unsigned?
I know there was talk that he signed a deal, but I thought I remember seeing something else that it wasn't official.
with world class judo, excellent MT for only training for so short of a time period, and is training with one of the best camps and is easily one of the strongest guys in his class.
He took that fight he lost on weeks notice.
And if you knew anything about the last two people he has beaten, you wouldn't have created this thread.
hopefully whenever he fights next it's gonna be more then a minute long fight so we can really see his skill set and see how he does when in trouble.
I remember reading on one of the blogs he signed w/ Elite also. I'm itching to see him fight again sometime soon...
i remember reading a while ago the deal fell through, and Gary Shaw saying he backed out of the deal for more money elsewhere after EliteXC spent all of this money brining him in as a last minute special guest for their Baroni vs Shamrock show. Unless something changed after that, he never signed with them.
I watched both of those fights, yes he knocked both of them out but I don't think 2 good wins qualifys him as top 10
flying sprawl ftw
and Hendo said he hasn't really signed with anyone but most likely K-1 will be the suitor
we need to have matt serra vs sokoudjou. Double knockout fluke for sure.
Yeah, so you watch the fights, big deal. What you don't know is the background info, when Pride FC had their 1st event here in the US, they needed some "tomato can" to pretty much get dominated by lil Nog and put on a good show. EVERYONE thought this was going to be easy win for lil Nog and the Nogueira brothers are known for their iron chins and they have been tested time and time again against many strikers. What everyone didn't expect was that Soku would knock him out in the 1st round, it was a complete upset. You think Chuck Liddell losing to Jardine was bad, well if you followed MMA outside of the US, then this was just news breaking.
Okay so flash forward another couple months, people are skeptical and think that was a fluke KO and there are some people who support him and there are some people who think that was a lucky KO and up pops up his video against Texiera (which he took up on weeks notice which I mentioned before) and people say he will lose against Arona. Arona is no joke, you might not think it now but he was in the top 5 a couple years ago and was considered a huge contender for the #1 spot. Well, in comes the fight, Soku successfully defends Arona's takedown and proceeds to knock him out in such a way that only someone like Wanderlei would've dreamed of doing (but never could).
This is only a very brief background info, but like I said, if you knew anything about the two people he recently defeated, you would not have made this thread.
actually it was their second show in the US
2nd my bad. It still doesn't affect the main argument
lol i know, just messin' with ya
bwahahhaa, but Jardine and Forrest who only have 1 good win should be top 10?
Sokoudjou vs Houston
how is his gi vs. no gi throwing? actually, what i'm asking is is he throwing from the clinch really well a la karo style? he have a favorite no-gi throw?
I really fucken wanna see him fight again. He's the real deal imo.
I said that?
Your just tryin to troll left and right knee grow.
Arona had leprosy and MS in that fight. Also a brain tumor and his legs had been amputated.
