AMD and Intel systems can run the same RAM nowadays, DDR. DDR = Double Data Rate = front side bus runs at double speed. PC3000 is DDR RAM that runs at 370mhz, with theoretical max bandiwdth of 3GB/sec. Top of the line right now is PC3200 which runs at 400mhz.

top of the line non-overclocking mem is PC3200.
Some places go higher than that.

Here is the way it works.
    Example... DDR 400/PC3200
They are the same... when its listed as DDR400, that is referring to its speed where PC3200 is referring to its bandwidth. Its a multiple of 8. You can get that with and of the mem.
The bandwidth is just 8 times the speed.
