I finally got my stuff to setup my new system. I just went out and bought some ram. But now i have some questions. My prcoessor is a 3ghz p4 w/ HT and 800mhz FSB. The mobo I got supports dual channel ddr 400. I know the specs on the different types of ddr, but not that good with dual channel. I wanted to start out with 512mb for now. So I got a pair of dual channel ddr 400 Kingston ram that is 512mb. So its 2 256mb sticks of ram. But on the back of the box it says "Systems running 800mhz FSB will run @ 400mhz". I thought the dual channel even though still 400mhz DDR will keep the bus speed @ 800mhz since its dual channel?

Also, if I would pick up a single stick of 512mb ddr400 to add to my existing pair, it will slow down the system bus to 400mhz thus cancelling out the gains of running dual channel ddr, correct?

    Thanks guys.
