What's so special about them? :dunno:
I'm browsing through newegg and people are praising how wonderful this DVD-RAM is and how underrated they are.. but don't give any details.

DVD RAM is great for archiving. Long shelf life and it also has built in (hardware) error correction to catch and remap bad sectors. DVD-RAM is more like a hard drive platter in the way it is laid out than a DVD. I use them to archive digital photos and scanned images on.

It is NOT good for burning movies to, mainly because there are cheaper and more universally compatible formats (DVD+/- R/RW) for it.
