    can I do RAID 0 on an IDE drive and a SATA drive??

    Theoretically yes. But your software/hardware controller has to support it. It's not recommended to use heterogenous devices when creating raidsets since it will be as strong as the weakest link. So your stripeset will only be throttled by the speed, access, and throughput of the IDE drive.
