I got my new RAID card, enclosures, and drives finally. I have my computers half disassembled while trying to figure out how to hook up the LED activity wires that came with my enclosure to the RAID controller.

    Controller: Adaptec RAID 51645
    http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/products/Controllers/Hardware/sas/performance/SAS-51645/

    Enclosures: Supermicro CSE-M35T-1
    http://www.supermicro.com/products/accessories/mobilerack/CSE-M35T-1.cfm

The problem is that there are 2 activity connections on the RAID card for each lane whereas the cable that came with the Supermicro enclosure is 1 wire per lane. The manual for the RAID card says to "connect the positive lead to pin 1". So, does anyone know if I just plug the cables into all the positive pin connections?

On page 131 of the manual (http://download.adaptec.com/pdfs/user_guides/Adaptec_RAID_Controller_IUG_08_2008.pdf), it states a little more information about each pin but doesn't answer my question.

    nobody???

    EDIT:
In case anyone cared, I got a hold of SuperMicro tech support and for SATA drives, no HDD activity cable is necessary. The SATA cable itself contains 1 HDD LED activity pin (pin 11 support).

I didn't ask about SAS since I'm not using SAS drives and the guy was kind of hard to understand.
