Funny you ask this. I just got a Solo S2 the other day. It's the best cordless out there. Not saying much since there isn't a bunch of competition.

I was torn between this and corded detectors. I don't like running cords, since I used to have a V1, but at the same time I knew that cordless doesn't provide the best coverage.

Well, my G35 has shitty power outlets since it's in the armrest, so I went with the Solo S2. So far it's been okay. My commute isn't all that far. I will see how well it does when I drive to visit my fiance this weekend.

Unless you are planning on using it on a bike, there is no point to a cordless.

this is for my dad, who prefers a cordless, but wouldn't complain about a corded one. how does a corded one detect better than a cordless? are there major differences between the two because of their power source?

just save up to get a v1. and look at it this way, if you dont feel like you got your money's worth, then you can resell it on ebay at a minimal (if any) loss to what you paid.

Anybody dropping $100 more on a Valentine has zero common sense.
