GUN Rack grade Garand

    So heres the deal.. I agreed to buy a rack grade M1 from a local guy. Its priced @ $420 which is cool to me.

    The problem is the throat erosion is a 5-6. Which is pretty bad but there are ones out there with 9's so its not aweful. The stock is in awesome shape.

    I think for what I want (The ability to say I have a Garand) its a good deal. Worst case I see myself spending $300 on a match grade barrel if I decide to shoot in with a need for accuracy.

    Whats the opinion mates?

    Buy it and spends the money on a GI barrell or a match grade one if you so need one.

    Until then, don't get your hopes up about accuracy and consistency shooting the paper.

    yeah what you paid is about what one costs through CMP. just slap a good barrel on it and you are good to go.

    I looked and didnt see any cheap GI barrels.

    I did see Springfield makes some though.

    $420 isn't a good deal just to say you have something :rofl:
