Stop buying it. That's the only way. It just takes some willpower.

Then replace it with something else. Join a club. Go hiking with friends or alone. If you're doing something you won't just be sitting there thinking about getting high.

 It baffles me that people can still claim that they are bored in this day and age. There are literally millions of things out there that you can do. Learn a skill, pick up a hobby, play an instrument, etc...

in all upmost seriousness, playing an instrument is probably one of the worst things you could do to stop smoking weed if it was an immediate alternative fix. if there was any musical inclination, I would recommend picking it up long after the habit was removed.

however, i agree that picking up a hobby is a great idea. phisical activity is probably one of the best hobbies to pick up. your body releases edophorines (or however you spell that) when you are active for extended periods of time. it's not the same as toking up, but damn, sometimes you feel pretty damn good after a long excersise. its not the same, but feels just as good in a different way.

There is a physical exertion endorphin that binds to the same receptor as THC and other cannabinols. The high is very much the same IMO only mild and produces the same "side effects" such as munchies and sleep. Physical activity is a great way to get your mind off smoking.

    find a hobby
    get a job
    join a volunteer group
    quit buying it

you're gonna have to do it on your own man. Break the cycle and create a new healthy one.

I bet you hear a lot of things.

OP: Try to ease off the tobacco first. It is likely that most/all of the difficulty quitting will come from the tobacco so taper off. Try reducing the tobacco portion over time, then move on to the cannabis. Active recreational activities are a good idea for replacing smoking and you will find excersize much easier as your lungs clear.
