is a higher watt PSU more quiet than a lower watt PSU?

my PSU is either 135W or 230W (it gives both max outputs....dunno which one it is :dunno: )

i don't think it's any of my fans. my shit sounds like i'm riding in an airplane.

QuietPC.com has a good list of quiet parts, including PSUs

I think one of the best ones they list is Scythe Kamariki II 550W PSU.
Dual +12V at 20A each. 19-25dBA. Dual PCI-E connections. 20+4 ATX. All of the cables are sleeved. But a hefty price tag at $122.
They have a 450watt and 400watt models as well for $99.50 and $72.50 respectively.

Hell I think I'll get one myself for my next PSU.

Antec is fairly quiet. Otherwise, I like the Seasonic Super Silencer series, as well as the PC Power and Cooling Silencer series.

wattage doesn't neccessarily denote quietness... although a higher-wattage psu will probably generate more heat, which requires more efficient cooling.

I'd avoid Antec. Although their TruePower 380 is decent (the one with 120mm fan, not the dual 80mm)
