For whatever reason my CD burner says there is no disc in the drive whenever I put a blank CD in, and I can't write to it. It can read a CD with music or data on it just fine, but says there is nothing in it if its a blank CD. Any ideas?

Maybe, it's not a CD burner then? Or so old of a burner that they don't accept 700 mb CD's

seriously, plain cd burners are cheap now.

You did try removing and reinstalling the driver for it right?
