whats the overall length on an m1 carbine with the paratrooper stock folded? i love the look of them, but wouldnt want to be inadvertantly creating an NFA item :o

Is there a law for OAL in California? I know there is in Michigan and perhaps a few other places. If there isn't, it shouldn't matter how long the OAL is as long as the barrel is 16".

There was some court case or something a while back that decided the OAL is measured with the stock extended because that is the way it was intended to be used.

Just for you I measured one of my original M1A1 carbines. Overall length is 35.5" +/-.

Federally, to be an SBR it has to have a barrel length less than 16" or an overall length of less than 26", measured with stock extended if has a folding or collapsible stock.

Spmeone was making some ok ones a while back. Id see them advertised in Shotgun news.

I have an extra original, but I dont think you'd wanna pay the price. But if you have an Inland carbine, with enough correct parts you could take a $600 gun and make it a $2500 gun.

I think CA measures OAL differently than the Feds...I thought CA measured it with everything folded/retracted....I hope I'm wrong though.

back the fuck up ghostrider, the pattern is full of prison.

OAL in Cali for AW purposes is measured in the SHORTEST configuration. Also, remember, in CA it has to be greater than 30 inches to avoid jail.

Also, the Para stock is a P-grip , along with a folding stock, which means that since it isn't registered, it is illegal to put on unless you want to buy a 10round mag and fix it.
