Alright theres some kids that work in the restraunt i cut at.

    Kid #1-
Says his 2000 3.8l v6 mustang is producing 260+ horsepower bone stock and says he will be at 340 horsepower with a polished intake and exhaust.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Kid #2-
Daddy bought him a 2005 v6 mustang and he says his mustang is stock @ 272 hp. :ugh:

Now my question is what are the base hp for both models.

I KNOW the 2000 gets something like 160 to the rear wheels and the 2005 is no where near 272.

Kid #1 - Has a 190 hp engine. He seems to be confused with the GT model that has 260 HP. Telling him he has the same motor as the Ford Windstar minivan or Taurus should break his balls a bit.

Kid #2 - Has 210 hp engine. Tell him to go race a Ranger, it has the same mediocre engine.

From those ratings, take 20% or so off to get a rough idea of rear wheel power. It's hard to argue with ignorant kids though.

ahaha those 3.8's put out like 154rwhp to the ground. The newer 4.0's aren't too bad, but will still lose to even a NPI mustang GT

Just tell them that their shitty V6 Mustangs are just pussified versions of real cars. I don't even acknowledge those on the road.

I envy people that drive cars like 'vettes and GTOs that don't have V6 versions. If you see one, you know it's at least respectable. The V6 versions of the Mustang, Camaro, and Firebird devalue the Cobra/GT, SS/Z28, and TransAm/Formula respectively.

There is one advantage to such cars; upgrading a slower version is one way to keep insurance costs down a little. I see quite a few 'swapped' base models on the road and at the track.

Myself, I think it'd be fun to swap a tweeked GN or GNX drivetrain into an F-body, but that's another story...
