Its the level 1, are these 'power training exercises' mandatory or are they optional for more advanced lifters? I'm on day 3, dead and I want to omit the power training if the lifts are optional.

Is it supposed to be optional though? I'll do it if its part of the routine, but if its optional I'll skip it.

What I don't understand is that he says the sets and reps for Power training but nothing for anything else?

i don't have the book with me, but earlier in the training section he gives an example of what a common 4 set excersize would look like.

15, 12, 10, 8 with a rigid one minute rest in between. you might want to go back and read it to suite your personal needs. that's what i love about arnold's training.

I need to read my Arnold book again but I don't see why he'd have you doing deadlift 4RM's 3 out of 4 days, that would royally fry my CNS and my lower back would be fucked.

I wouldn't not do anything. I'd do it just like it says. But you can taylor it to your needs. Just remeber, if it's hard... it's prolly fucking good for you.

Heavy deadlifts 3x a week are not good for you unless you're Arnold.

    You are not Arnold.

Thats what I'm thinking, and its 4x a week:

    Monday: 4rm deadlift
    Wednesday: 4rm Stiff legged deadlift
    Thursday: 4rm deadlift
    Saturday: 4rm Stiff legged deadlift

My second week on this routine. First week was hard as hell, second week I'm not as sore. I just started doing free weights but I tried to push myself as far as I could go, and I could barely walk last week. This week is going steadily though. I also keep a journal, I usually write out upcoming week's routine on sunday because that's my freeday, and I figure it would be easier to write the entire week rather than waiting and doing it the night before or whatever.

ok well it's Deadlifts twice a week and SLDL's. I wouldn't do them twice a week though.. I honestly skipped over that when I posted it... I didn't even realize it was like that.

if the routine is truly like that, its a stupid fucking routine. You promoted it as a noob routine and it'll just crush most experienced lifters, let alone noobs.
