Pretty boring, I know. I'm heading back to the beach this weekend, shot this last week.

Why do you always post so small sizes of your pics?

Im curious, what's your motivation for this pic?

Something you like about the sky? The gradient falloff into purple tones?
The wood? Maybe the texture of the post?

looks like about 30 deg, camera left. The shadow pattern reveals the lighting.

It was actually a really long exposure with multiple bursts from the flash fired manually all over. 580ex, 1/8 power. Can't remember the time. You can look it up in the EXIF if you want.

Because I have a small monitor on my laptop, helps me see everything better. That's why I usually post links to the fullsize as well. If you have a huge print, you're not going to start by looking at each little detail. You're going to see the whole thing first when you approach it.

My motivation was to experiment with some light painting. No more, no less. As I said, the pic is pretty boring.

ic... it seemed like you used multiple flashes, but I couldn't figure out how many or where except for they were somewhere left of camera :o

I like the color tones. Could be good, kind of boring though. I'd maybe have swiveled the view to the left and used the immediate post as a border and captured some of the ocean. The fence line is boring.
