    I am dynamically populating an empty select/dropdown on the page load, but I am having some rendering issues in IE...imagine that.

    Here is the scenario in question

    Basically the text box is not matching the width of the dropdown and the arrow is missing. Works fine in firefox though. Here is the code I'm using to populated the dropdown:

    var option = document.createElement('option');
    option.setAttribute('value', members.periodID);
    option.appendChild(document.createTextNode(members.displaySpan));
    document.getElementById('ddlPeriod').appendChild(option);

    Anyone have some tips to make it look fine in IE?
