    :bowdown::bowdown:

    Its awesome to see two guys at the peak of their careers still helping out the lower level guys and giving back to the fans.

    It seems like the UFC is trying to ease up on the no-compete thing (except with Randy.) First we heard about Mirko, and this weekend Red (Eric Schafer) had a fight at a local show here in Milwaukee. He is still under a three fight contract, but the UFC is letting him compete in smaller shows to get some confidence back.

    Who knows their reasons, though.

    i think they are worried more about their big name talents. cro cop wasnt a big name in the us and after he lost a couple of fights he isnt worth what he was getting paid i think they let him out of the contract because it was convenient for them

    They let a lot of younger/lesser talent go to local shows to build confidence.

    If a fighter isn't bringing their best to the cage the UFC can't maximize their value.

    No one cares when a lesser known guy does it because no one really misses them or realizes that they are gone. Also the local shows aren't making a ton of money by bringing in Marvin Eastman as opposed to putting someone like Chuck on their local card.
