What AK model is it that has what looks like a full length gas system, but the front sight tower is integrated into the gas tap? It looks like the love child of a krink and a normal AK. I like the look, but don't know shit about it :o

I think the bulgarians made a couple like that in 5.45 maybe 5.56. you can buy the FSB/Gas block combo from kvar.

Looks like there are quite a few of them, mainly the 104 series and the ORF Krink

doesn't make sense to me though, since it seems to kind of have the worst of both worlds, short barrel, but not short enough to really hide.

Hungary has 12.5'' bbl AMD-65s which were supposedly tanker guns. Accuracy isn't going to be affected really. I often shoot better with my AMD than a full length 47.

I think the sight/gas block looks kinda cool too :o

I'm not sure they ever imported any of those kits. I think all the ones in the country now are made by Arsenal and you can just buy the complete rifle. You could always do what Squid suggested and buy the gas block/sight from K-Var and swap 'em. They are just held there by pins, pretty easy fix.

Find someone that has a AK-10X series clone like that and shoot it. They have awesome balance. Great compromise of compactness, without giving up a silly amount of muzzle velocity. I think overall the barrel with booster (which does actually give a few extra FPS) is like 13.5-14in. I really cant say enough about that series of AK. I am in the process of switching all but my beater AKs over to that style.

well, considering I'm getting like 6 or 7 AK kits in the next couple of months, I might look into getting one or two extra to turn into 10X style AKs :o

polish underfolder, bulgie krink, pair of bulgie -74s, and a pair of Romy Gs. I might get another -74 and turn it into that shorter 10X profile though.

You should probably buy me a Bulgy 74 or two. I don't want to spend $300 on a kit right now [IMG]

You guys can't SBR rifles down there can you? What's the Krink for?

rofl, not buying you a kit, since I need the money for a 240z as well.

And yah, no SBRs out here. The krink and underfolder are just going to sit in my closet till I'm in a free state and I can to the paperwork. Hell, ALL the kits are going to stay kits for atleast a year, since really, I can only afford to feed one AK anyway :o

I'm trying to decide which ones I want the side clamp rail on as well :hsd: I figure atleast one of the Romy Gs (either the one I have now or one of the two I am getting), and the -74 that I am going to have synth furniture on :o

maybe the krink as well. :dunno:

Yeah I'll probably be buying a few kits in the next month or two as well. Prices are only going to go up. At this point I don't see receivers going anywhere price wise so we might as well stock up on kits. I can always bend some flats too if the receivers somehow disappear.

You should definitely pick up a Tantal kit if you're getting multiple 74 kits, they are $50-75 cheaper than the Bulgarian 74s and built just as nice. You can always throw a fixed stock on them if your state doesn't allow folding ones.

maybe. I'm def going to get the krink first, then the regular 74s. Is the only difference b/w the fixed stocks and a tantal the wire stock?

 is that a specific kit or a custom build?

Oh, and the reason I'm getting two -74s is so that one will be synthetic and the other wood :o

Tantal is Polish, there's a couple odd things about it that's different than any other AK, like the hand guard retainer is for both the top and bottom hand guard, diff muzzle brake, and it's got a side selector which is kind of neat. You can make it to flip the saftey on and off but it's not really necissary.

And that mini Tantal kit is someones work. They never came like that to my knowledge. They did make mini .223 Beryls which were kinda neat.

They are pretty close, just minor differences. I believe the Tantal has grenade launching capabilities.

ah. Well, with the Krink and the -74s, and MAYBE a 10X style, I don't think I really need or want a Tantal. Looks cool, but :dunno:
