im gonna take my camera with to prom, but i only have a 16meg card, so what quality should i set it at if i want max 8x10 prints?

i have it at 1024x768 right now at normal quality, and it says 84 pics, but if i do fine quality it will only give me 40 pics, is normal quality good enough at that resolution?

you will need atleast 1600x1200 to get 8x10's and even then you are cutting it close.

I start off with 3000x2008 images and I only print them at 8x10 or 11x14 max. Try to stay above 200ppi.

for the pics you want to print out, take them on the higest resolution/highest quality

then, for casual pictures, bump it back down to 1024 so you can take more of them

1600x1200 on my camera with highest quality settings makes barely passable 8x10's in perfect lighting. I doubt that you will have much luck with 8x10's in a low light situation....unless your camera is good in low light... :dunno:

i know proms are expensive, but is the price of a bigger mem card worth the extra photos to you?
