Leaning towards the H&R Pardners but wondering how a turkey gun is different than a regular shotgun? This would be used only for fun and protection, so keeping that in mind, what gauge would you recommend? I've fired a shotgun before, but this would the first one I've owned.

    :dunno:

On a side note, can you have ANY guns in NYC? I know there are major restrictions on handguns, but I don't see much on rifles and shotguns. At the moment my only gun is in PA but I would like to have one in the city if I can do it without breaking any laws.

    Thanks :wavey:

you're considering a single shot break action pipe rifle for protection?

are you surrounded by indjins or something?

I'm a noob. I'm just attracted to the single shot because it's affordable. I don't plan on keeping it loaded. If you want to criticize me, at least give me info to learn from.

if you have any intention for self defense (which I'm not sure if defending yourself with any kind of firearm is legal at all in NYC) I'd look into a pump action shotgun such as a Mossberg 500 or Remmington 870. You'd be looking at a grand total of less than 350 dollars for one of those, way less if you find one used.

The Turkey gun comes with a tighter choke.
