When you sign up with different affiliates, are you using a Tax ID or your SSN? What advantages, if any, are there to one over the other? And if you're using a tax id, do you run this as a secondary business (ie. you have a day job and this is just for extra income)? And lastly, did you have a website prior to getting involved, or was that a result of getting involved?

Just curious where/how everyone got started and how you handle the income side of things.

You don't have a Tax-ID/EIN unless you own a business that is registered with the government/IRS.

I started under my own name, but created a business for liability protection and therefore use my EIN only.

you must be an llc or a corp etc to have an ein technically cause that ein will be 1099'd at the end of the year and in order to get a business account and business cc's you need to provide documents to the bank showing your certificate from the state and articles of incorporation etc. I use my ein I don't use my ssn anymore cause I make too much and the tax advantages and stuff of having a corp is just far too great. This is my job and I still use an ein. I started using my ssn in the begining and filed as a sole and then an llc and now a corp.

Chill dude, don't be a dick. I wanted opinions from several people and I had more questions than the only one you chose to answer.

    Thanks for your input though.

I appreciate any and all feedback given in this thread. :bigthumb:
