I'm a PC user, I got nothing against macs or mac users, I'm not trying to troll or flame... if you are easily offended stop reading now. I posted some of the fallowing questions at the mac forum and REALLY upset some people there, so, uh, yeh... (i dunno why there were upset, they were just questions)

    on to the questions:
    1. would all the buttons of my g5 laser mouse work on a mac? (right click, left click, app switch click, browser back, browser forward, scroll wheel click)

    2. would i have to boot into windows every time i needed to run a fractal generator or are there mac equivalents, or ports, that are just as good (apophysis, sterling fractal)

    3. 3DS Max doesn't work for OSX right? so I would have to boot into windows for that? (i need it for work)

    4. is there an equivalent of .bat files?

    5. how well does OSX support multi core processors? I read vista is better with them then XP, hows OSX?

    6. can creative cards work on desktop macs? I've never seen a really good, high quality 7.1 built in audio....

    7. to macbooks have a PC Card ([SIZE=-1]PCMCIA) slot, or an equivalent?

    8. how well would it sync my HTC4000?

    9. hows bluetooth on mac? I assume it works the same as on a windows machine?

    10. will things like generic compactflash readers and anything else that shows up as a 'usb mass storage device' work the same on a mac? i assume its some sort of standardised driver thing...

    11. would my samsung sync master 19inch lcd work on a mac? they use the same gfx cards these days right?

well thanks for your time if you read everything!

    cool, thanks!
the problem with maya is its sooo expensive compared to 3dsmax. Plus I've tryed it before and realized it would take some time to learn it, its pretty different from max...

thanks again for the response :)

    Max is $3500
Maya is $2000 for the complete version, $7000 for the unlimited

so it's both cheaper and more expensive at the same time :)
I have unlimited at work, but only use it for the additional render nodes options, complete would be more than enough for me...
