once the removable disk image appears on the desktop, just double click on it to open it, then drag the actual application package to your applications folder. once that's done, you can unmount the disk image and either keep the file that was launching the disk image for back up or delete it to clear the hard drive space.

ok i think i'm lost. heres what i did

    1. dl'ed the program and after it finished it showed up in finder as a removeable image.
    2. i moved the program to the applications folder and the firefox icon changed to the same A on top of a sheet of paper
    3. i unmounted the disc image

when i open the program from the applications folder, it still appears as a disc image.

once the removable disk image appears on the desktop, just double click on it to open it, then drag the actual application package that is inside that disk image folder to your applications folder.

happens on windows firefox too. usually goes away once you go to a new page, hit relaod, or move the mouse around enough. :)
