I'm detailing my first Ferrari on friday, very nice red 550 Maranello. Anyway, it has some swirls and a few very faint scratchs. I was thinking about using Megs #80 and then AIO and then topping with Souveran. I'm just wondering if this sounds like a good combo to you or is the AIO then Souveran overkill?

I would just be afraid that the #80 might not be enough to take care of those swirls. I might consider using DAC/P first.

They aren't very deep, so I'm going to give #80 a try first. I want to go as less abrasive as possible. thanks though :)

Sounds like a great combination. Why would you worry that it is overkill? AIO should be a good base for Souveran.

BTW, pics when you finish or ban. ;)

Will do. Last question, AIO using PC or by hand? First time using AIO so I thought I'd ask.

You can use AIO either way, I prefer by hand. #80 should do fine, I have gotten some nasty swirls out with #80 and an orange pad :)

    Congrats!

I have still yet to book an exotic :(

I'd say #80/AIO/Souveran is a stunning combo for red.

I'd say #80 with polishing or cutting pad, then AIO via finishing pad, and Souveran by hand.

    Pics are a must :)

if the swirls are like the haze marks from improper washing then 80 should take care of it. However if your talking spiderwebs you might want to try something like ssr2.5 or IP good luck & post pics.
