What do you do when you get a cold.. or have to blow your nose.. seems like it might be painful haha
i take it out, blow my nose, and then put it back in.. hehe
i hated mine.. took it out.
I wear mine flipped up about 95% of the time. When i blow my nose, i pop it out, blow, then flip it back up. if it's a bad enough cold i'll take it out for hours at a time and put it back in to sleep.
Adding on to threadstarter's question a bit:
I've heard from a few people that septum piercings tend to be good at having snot build up on/around them?
This is the only thing that may make me want to rethink getting one done.
Just practice basic hygiene. If you can't be arsed to clean it up once in a while, its probably not the piercing for you. Its not really difficult to manage.
1. hold tissue to nose area
2. close mouth
3. exhale sharply through nose
but seriously its one of the easiest piercings to care for. if it actually does get really snotty just wipe it off. I have a larger one (6g, was 4 at one point) but when blowing its no different then if you had no piercing. just blow and wipe.
just clean it daily. I have allergy issues and still, i clean it every morning and just rinse it and it's fine.
I've had a runny nose for about a year of the year and a half that mine's been done, and I've adjusted to it. Just take it out daily, clean it, put it back in, it's really no big deal. I've got a 4g tunnel in mine right now, and while it's not the prettiest thing to deal with (even after 8-12 hours, you get some pretty nasty looking crud built up), it takes all of 2 minutes to clean it and put it back in.
