How do I make Opera not run my internet explorer favorites?
I don't feel like deleting them one at a time.

That only deletes one folder and sub-list at a time.

This is one of the reasons I deleted the prog last time I ran it.

No reason I shouldn't be able to use select all to highlight the list and hit delete.

I just went ahead and deleted each one, one at a time.

I don't know why you are so hard-up on using "shift"

OR you could choose not to import your favs when you first run it. lulz.

    No you can't.

And anyway, all they need to fucking do is allow for right click, delete.

I've got it open right now, and when I go to bookmarks, and select one and right click it I do not have the option of clicking on delete.
Not only that, but I cannot delete it by clicking on delete on my keyboard.
It is only when I go to "manage bookmarks" when I can delete them.
Which is where you are on your screen cap.
I would expect Opera to be at least as user friendly as internet explorer is.
To make matters worse, I cannot delete the whole list at one time.
I have to do it one-at-a-time.
I cannot highlight the entire list to delete them.

And yes, it is very easy and fast to simply open up "manage bookmarks" and delete the entire list one at a time.
That's not the point of why I don't like that feature.

you know I don't know what the fuck you want, then.... because what I showed you takes 3 seconds total. If that doesn't satisfy you, then I think you're being unreasonable.

by the way, you can hit "f4" and you can 'right click > delete" your book marks from there, as well

I'm with Jolly - I have no idea what the fuck you're doing that you can't delete your bookmarks. Select the first one, shift click the last one, right click, delete.

I don't care how few clicks it takes to accomplish this.

IE and Firefox both allow for the right click delete, right out of the bookmark/favorite list.
And nevermind the right click delete. It doesn't even let you right click in the bookmark drop down window period.

You know, that function that virtually every damned program that runs on windows allows for? Yeah, that one.

Okay, fine you can't right click them from that specific menu, big fucking deal. But you don't have to delete them one by one which you were going on and on about.

BTW, I just opened up word, I can't delete my recent files list by right clicking. :run:

I tried right-click to delete the file menu in at least a dozen programs -- none of them worked :mamoru:

    Apples and oranges.

The reason it's an issue is that I need two different browsers, because I run one on the left side and one on the right side of a 24" monitor.
You can't get the same browser to open up one page to the left and one page to the right automatically. Thus, two different browsers.

So Opera becomes the browser where, every time I want to remove a favorite, it's going to be like, oh this is the browser where I can't do that.

I mean you can right click just about everything on this page and get a set of options.

This isn't something unusual that I'm looking for here.

It seems a lot like what people complain about Macs for when they do shit just to be different.

I did this with ONE installation of FireFox.

If you pay attention you'll see when I screw up and try to use mouse-gestures (opera-specific) whoops :mamoru:

Well, no. You stated every other program. So... aside from IE and FF (which stole functionality from existing browsers at the beginning), what other programs?

Sure you can, open IE, position the left pane how you want it. Close it. Open up registry, go to this entry:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window_Placement

Export the key. Open up IE again, position window. Close it. Export the same key again.

    Create a batch file:

    regedit -s IEWindowLeft.reg
    start "Left IE" "%programfiles%\internet explorer\iexplore"
    regedit -s IEWindowsRight.reg
    start "Left IE" "%programfiles%\internet explorer\iexplore"

Doc Brown has a perfectly valid point.

There is a pattern for browsers where you should be able to open up the bookmarks drop-down menu, and right click on a bookmark to get a context menu, rather than have to go through the manage bookmarks applet.

This has always annoyed me about Opera and they need to fix it.

Yeah, I know you can do the tile windows, doofus.

My whole point is that I don't think it's ok for a browser like Opera to REQUIRE
that you transfer your favorites, and then not play fair about deleting them.
If you don't think that's an effort by them to make their browser the only one you'll use,
then I've got a bridge to sell you.

It is as far as browsers go.

And I cannot believe that you went through all that trouble to make that video.

You just wanted to show off that wall sized monitor, didn't you.

i was really bored. And the video doesn't really give you the true sense of size. Now if I had made a house of cards and a soda-can pyramid near it for size-reference, then you could say I was bragging :roofles:
