What do you do when the wiper cowl(big plastic thing between the hood and windshield) starts to fade. What should I do to keep it or reverse fading? Somebody told me Mother's makes a product called "Back to Black" that restores faded plastics. Is there any way to paint the wiper cowl? Any suggestions would be most helpful.

First thing I would do is tell the dealer you expect it to be replaced for free. Don't take no for an answer either. Ford is replacing the black trim on Expiditions that fade, so GM should replace the cowling.

Any protectant you use will end up all over the hood and windshield when it rains.

is it textured plastic or a gloss-look plastic?? If its textured, try peanut butter, followed by your favorite vinyl dressing. If gloss look, go get some Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Step 1 Cleaner. It works wonders on that type of plastic part. :bigthumb:
