I've been doing what you guys have suggested, eating 4000ish cals a day and doing the really heavy lifting three times a week. I had to stop for a month so I lost 12 pounds or so but I will be around 165 in about two months. At that point I am going to have "enough" strength, meaning that that will be satisfactory to me personally at 5"8, and I will try to trim the fat, regain a six pack, etc.

When I start toning (instead of building), and I know this is 2 months away but whatever, I don't want to lose the strength I will have gained. Do I keep eating the same amount? What workout style will be best? FLame if you must but please answer if you have the time.

    THanks

figure out your maintenance calories, cut 500 off of that

and do some cardio stuff too.. i find, for me at least, when i work up a good sweat once a day, i appear more "cut"

A lot of people benefit from carb cycling when trying to cut while losing minimal muscle because it, in a nutshell, keeps leptin levels up. Do a little research on carb cycling to see if you are interested and if you still need help let me know. I think that there's a post in the archives about it. Not sure.

damn 4000 is a grip for 165. but yea..just don't eat too far below maintenance and make sure you get ur protein. and focus more on compound stuff and less on isolated things so u get the most out of your energy.

Another question: I'm going to start toning whatever mass I've got at that point two months from now, and need to figure out what exercise routine I will switch to.

    Maybe:
    Mon: Biceps/Back
    Tue: Cardio
    Wed: Triceps/Chest
    Fri: Shoulders/Legs
(Since I am making this totally up, I'm sure it's not right. Please correct this if you have the energy!)
