I got a good student deal to buy Windows 7 and I chose to receive it as a download instead of having them ship a CD to me. They will send me an activation key in an email which I will obviously save, but since I will not have a physical CD, how would I go about reinstalling in case I ever had to in the future?

Would burning the Windows 7 installation file to a disc work? That way I could save it for the future if I ever need it and then just re-enter the activation key.

    Thanks.

you probably download an ISO file, which is what you would need to burn to a disc

You won't have any other option but burn the ISO you download. There's your backup.

OK cool, I wasn't sure what kind of file I would download, but since it'll be an ISO, that solves the backup problem.
