My school sells Vista Ultimate for $29 but they only carry the 32-bit version. But I want the 64bit version because I have a Q6600 and 4GB of RAM, can I buy the 32bit version then pay M$ for an upgrade CD Key to the 64bit. I know all of the discs have both versions on them, the CD Key is what tells it which version to install.

you will have problems with the 64-bit version. You are much better off using the 32-bit version.

    :rly: works fine for me

AFAIK all the product keys for vista are non-specific to 32 or 64 bit, so you should be albe to use the same key for either, you'll just need the media. dunno if upgrade keys are like this, but the OEMs and retail i believe are all like this.
