    how exactly does it work?
does MS detect modified firmware and ban from Live?
do you have to be playing a game online to be detected?
    are there any other consequences?

    1. You softmod it (flash firmware) or install a modchip
    2. Nobody knows 100% for sure but the general consensus is they can't detect the firmware but do detect the backups (bad rip and security information)
    3. Playing online or offline means Jack shit. Again the consensus is the 360 logs all information and when you sign online it's sent to ms. Anything abnormal sets off a flag for a ban.
    4. A ban is about it lol

this is the reason why you won't enjoy them anymore :wtc: too easy to move on to the next game if there is just one little thing wrong with the one you're playing :sadwavey:

Im enjoying batman as much as I am enjoying shadow complex and I got batman for free. Again it must be you. I'm pretty sure Jesse, jero, twinsen and the rest of the 360 mod crew enjoy the games. Time for a new hobby doggy

that's because there are no games right now man if odst, borderlands, rb:b, brutal legend, mw2, and forza3 were out right now you would've moved on already :wtc:

there used to be a time when i could enjoy a 8/10 game but not anymore :sadwavey:

btw, i should have waited until i finished reading other posts before i posted. my biscuit.

i was really just wondering if it was the kind of thing that if you kept off XBL that you'd avoid, or if it bricked your console.

    thanks for the responses, btw.

You can avoid it if you make sure your backups are retail and contain all the correct stealth files and security info. Bu nobody knows what nxe and the recent update may have added. Best to not even go online at all with a modified box. alot of people have two xboxes lol. One is modded and never goes online and one that the go on live with. Buy games you plan to play online (like modern warfare2) dl the rest.
