    Jits, yep.

I'm only a block away from having to enter the corporate life and working 9-5. With part time school & work, balancing BJJ/Work/School/Life isn't so bad. But how do you guys do it with work? I'd be dead tired after 5pm and having to commute to the Academy. :dunno: I'll Never Back Down though. I'm on my step to RedBelt :h5:

I said the same thing for awhile.

Just go. Once it becomes part of the routine you won't have any problems sticking to it.

I still plan on going once I do the 9-5. I'd probably burn out within the first few months but I'll adjust, I hope.

the white collar lifestyle isn't going to stop me from training. I still plan on going, but I just wonder about the stress. I know a dude with a family in his 40's who goes every Monday/Thursday night and he seems so stressed.

    Tired, fix your diet.

Lifes responsibilities dragging you down, cut out the bullshit.

for me, cut the drunken orgy's down to one weekend night a week and I'm fucken golden.

Good thing I don't drink. I'm 6"0' @ 160lb. I think I can afford to burn another 10lb. More time for cardio I guess :dunno: I back down all the time

I don't do the school thing, but I work 9 hour days and have an hour commute each way.

Before the baby was born, I was training 3 nights a week, Hapkido and BJJ on Monday, BJJ on Wednesday, and Hapkido on Thursday, and hitting every open mat session we had on Saturday.

Now I've cut back to just BJJ on Monday and Wednesday. I skipped a Carlos Machado seminar last weekend to stay home with the baby so my wife could go out for the day, but I will attend Rigan Machado's seminar next month. And I'm probably going to Dallas for a weekend in July and will go to a class at Carlos's school while I'm there.

It's just a matter of prioritizing things. The bad thing though is that my motorcycles are neglected.

Props to you for juggling all of that + the baby. Do you still feel "complete" training 2 days instead of the old 4?

No. I miss the Hapkido stuff. Once she's a few months older and doesn't require so much immediate attention I'll go back to it. This is just temporary.

Interesting. I'll have to check that out one day in my lifetime. I'm really enjoying Judo now. Hurts a bit though...

We have a good bit of judo throws mixed in. I enjoy it, but it's not sportive at all in it's application.

I'm one of the few here that enjoys a traditional martial art though.

One of the better BJJ guys at my gym is a History teacher. He also started a BJJ club at his school for the kids, then from there comes and trains with us 3-4 days a week.

It is about priorities. I work 7am-5pm and make time to go to the gym till 9pm some days. I still spend plenty of time with my wife, go hiking and camping some weekends, and play in a volleyball league with my friends. I watch a little less tv, play alot less video games, and fit anything else less important to me in between the rest.

I did it for awhile. I just didnt sleep much. 4-5 hours a night. Juggling work, training, personal life (gf), side work and other hobbies. Work work schedule is pretty flexible now, though.

i get off work about 5:30, and i go through about 50 minutes of traffic to get there at 6:20. I do two classes in a row (4 hrs) and get home about 10:20 pm..

Not training isnt an option for me.. It's all about how important it is to you :o
