I got my first tattoo on wednsday and its a half sleeve which starts on my shoulder, goes down my arm, and onto my back. I know you should avoid working out as much as possible and avoid rubbing the tattoo as much as possible but I work as a police officer and am worried about my vest rubbing on my tattoo while at work. Monday and tuesday I have training days and I'll be required to wear my vest outside all day in the summer heat and I know it will get all sweaty and might rub a little on my shoulder. Do you think the vest will damage the tattoo or will I be okay? Any ideas on how I could try to protect it? It just started peeling today.....Thanks

Is your vest directly on the tattoo? Wear an undershirt under your vest and you should be fine. I had my chest done and was wearing a vest every night for the week after i had it done and i was fine.

 It was actually when I was doing security and only because some suburban punk faggot pulled a gun on me when I threw him out of the club.

Sounds good... what about the small part that sticks out of the bottom of my sleeve? Should I attempt to put sunscreen on it so it doesn't burn or just leave it alone? I don't want to irritate it.

Only apply sunscreen if it's fully healed

You should be fine. The chemicals in the sun screen would do more damage than the sun would.
