If it matters i'm talking about my d40 here.

When you guys are swapping between lenses and are out shooting how much attention do you pay to dust? Lets say you are out by the water say the beach or something and you want to swap between your 18-55 to a 55-200. Does it matter that you are on the beach or will you go in your car and swap out? Should i be trippin about this or does it not matter? :noes:

I just do it quickly and keep the camera pointed downwards. Of course I rarely shoot above f8 so I don't care all that much.

I switch lenses a lot, usually during live shows. I just do it as quickly as possible. I have a quasi system down which uses my low pro bag to hold the in between lens and shit. But fuck going to your car to switch. Just be careful

I always did it really fast and I didnt have to clean my sensor for a good year. I'm close to Canon Irvine, so I can just take it down there for a free clean every 6 months.

I try to do it as quickly as possible, but I noticed I have 1 spec of dust on my sensor, its on the upper left corner, and shows up in anything with a blue sky

for now Ive just been cloning it out, I really need to do something about it.

Do most of you clean your own sensors? or take it somewhere?

It's not a $3,000,000,000 Mars probe. Take the damn lens off and use a blower. Problem solved.

Will give it a try, ive just read so much about people sending their cameras in like it rocket science

Sweet, it got rid of the one spot that bothered me, there might be a tiny spec on the bottom (only can see it at f/32 taking a pic of a blue sky) doesnt show up at f/8

I'll basically change lenses anywhere except the beach...

    That's just asking for trouble.

I'll set up the extra covers so I can quickly place one down in the cover while the other hand twists the new lens on. Then I go secure the other one and viola. Sensor is exposed for all of a second.

ive been trying to change lenses on my screwmount and it would be easier with 3 hands. one to hold the body and 2 to hold the lens perfectly perpendicular. its a bitch i usually do it face up so gravity can help.
