My sleep schedule right now is very sporadic
Alot of people have said that 7-8 hours of continued sleep is necessary for a good workout routine
but on weekdays I usually get 4-5 hours a night then I nap for 2.5 hours in between classes
Does that hinder gains too much?

i sleep 6 hours and seem to be doing fine, some people operate better on less sleep and some need more. I personally wish I could get more sleep but have trouble going to bed before 12 and wakeup at 6-7 on a daily basis.

I get 8-10 hours every night. I wish I didn't sleep that much though. I wake up and still feel like sleeping. If I only sleep 4-5 hours I wake up wired.

I'm always up later because I don't look at the clock, and then when I do its later than I had hoped.

& then I wake up at noon.... yeah fail.

I made a point for a majority of my college career to never have a class before 10am (there was some exceptions here and there) and sometimes I even would have classes start as late as noon for the day.

This REALLY screwed me over big time. I got in the habit staying up late because I knew I didn't have to wake up until 10/11/12 or whatever.
Eventually, I worked myself into a sleep schedule of going to bed around 3 or 4 and waking up at 10 or 12.

Now I can't get out of it, lol. I take melatonin just to get to bed by 3! It's messed up.

During the few quarters when I did have early classes at 8:30 or 9:30 I usually got to bed around 12 or 1 and woke up around 7.

That being said, I average about 6 hours of school days and 9 hours on non-school days. Trying to get on a consistent 7 hour a night basis.

I agree. All it takes is 1-2 weeks of consistently waking up at a given time and your body will adjust very quickly. I have class at 8am MW and 7.30am on T TH. Now a days, 1 1/2 mo into the semester, i find myself waking up 10-15 minutes before my alarm clock on my own. Not all the time though. There are some mornings where I would just rather sleep in.... like today.

I started out my semester like that. My first classes don't start till 1:30. I changed my sleep schedule once I started lifting though and made myself go to sleep at around midnight.

I think I am a night person too. I get a lot more done at night rather than in the day. I remember, even in high school when I had to get up at 6am everyday I was more concerned about pulling tail than going to bed. So I'd stay up until 3am talking to different chicks on the phone. I'd go to school on 3 hours sleep and always sleep through math and studyhall

During the week I get 4-6 hours and feel fine. Weekends with 9-12 hours I'm tired all day

Took me 2-3 months to get used to a career sleep schedule, but I was waking up at 5:50 to make it into the office at 7:30. :o

I was so used to sleeping at 4AM :hs:

3:30 right now and I just had a snack and am not tired at all.

Gonna pop a bendryl and hopefully be in bed by 4/4:30.
This sucks. I really gotta find a way to break this schedule that doesn't involve cough medicine abuse or drinking whiskey every night.

Having to get up early again is going to suck so bad.
