So I'm buying a Kimber .45 from a fellow OT'er and he shipped it to my dealer earlier this week but UPS opened the package and took out all the ammo and said he couldn't ship the ammo!! Totally pissed about this...I'm just wondering is their a way around this so he can somehow get me the ammo. We both have no idea how he would be able to do it cause they already told him he can't.

    :( - any suggestions?

ship it direct from the UPS depot. I have recieved ammo thru UPS before, and it said ".223 AMMUNITION" on the box. The little UPS stores suck ass, skip to the main depot.

i think there is a law in virginia that prohibits that. if i remember right, the online stores i've seen won't ship there. i'm not positive though.

I think that was it, if I'm not mistaken you cannot ship the ammo in the same package as the firearm.

You can not ship ammo in the same package as a firearm.

Also, ammo is potentially explosive and has to be shipped by the shipper as hazardous material. No big deal, but you do have to tell them what it is.

yeah, you have to get an "orm-d" sticker on the box to ship ammo. if you look at your cases you recieve factory ammo in, they all have it printed on the box.

i deal with ups and orm-d packages a lot. you can only ship orm-d ground, they will return any air packages with orm-d markings.
