i'm upgrading to leopard this week.

i have a MBP and a PC on the same network, and i want the MBP to backup wirelessly.

if i get an airport express and a USB hard drive, can i:
    - add it to my existing wireless network as an access point
    - plug in my USB hard drive as an "airdisk" that both the MBP and the PC can access to backup & stream movies/music over the network?

    ???

I don't *think* that Time Machine allows for backups using Airport Express or Extreme. :hs:

I had planned to do the same since I have both an iMac and a macbook but was sad to read that it wasn't possible. Hopefully an update will allow for it later? :dunno:

i saw a forum post somewhere that talked about how to do it.

it said, essentially, you do the first backup with the drive connected directly to the mac, then attach it as an airdisk and time machine will find it.

    if it works...pretty cool.

I'll be checking this one later.

I'd like to do my back up wireless. I wonder it that will make it longer?
