Question about Ruby on Rails

    Does it require knowledge of any other programming language, like php or asp??
    Does it help to know another programming language if you wanna learn ruby?

    It helps knowing Java being that Ruby is an object oriented language.

    Yes. Ruby is the language. Rails is the framework.

    1) You have to know Ruby. There's a great book on this. google://"ruby book" its free on the net.
    2) Yes. If you are already familiar with other dynamic languages like perl, python, php, etc. then ruby will be much easier. And as it is an object-oriented language, being proficient in an OO language as well and object-oriented analysis and design will be a big help too.
